Attorneys Online, Inc is excited to bring the Shapiro Law Group on board as a new client. With a focus in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), the Shapiro Law Group is devoted to representing victims who have dealt with traumatic birth injuries.

ROP is a condition that primarily affects premature infants, potentially causing blindness. It is typically the smallest premature newborns that are likely to be affected by ROP, approximately three pounds or less, born before 31 weeks of gestation. There is a medical treatment for ROP, but the condition must be treated and tested for before six weeks of age for it to be successful. If there is a delay in diagnosis or testing, the infant may become permanently blind.

Richard Shapiro has worked as a trail lawyer for 30 years, dedicating his time to those who have suffered through traumatic birth injuries, including ROP, and other medical injuries. Shapiro has also represented clients that were victims of medical malpractice injuries, including brain damage, paralysis, blindness and other severe injuries. He comes from a long line of renowned medical doctors and was a research assistant to his father, the chairman of Radiology at one of Yale University’s teaching hospitals, preparing research concerning vision and the brain. Shapiro has served on the Board of Governors for the Association of Trial Lawyers for much of his career and has secured millions of dollars for his clients.

Attorneys Online, Inc is proud to partner with a firm that is a resource for parents whose young children suffer from ROP. We look forward to helping the Shapiro Law Group reach out to those who have had to deal with this terrible and preventable disease.

If you have had an infant born with ROP that was left untreated due to negligent healthcare, contact the Shapiro Law Group today to discuss your case or call (941) 748-1727.
