So you think your 140 character tweet is meaningless or just gets lost in the internet? Not anymore. Google just announced that Twitter is showing up in search engine results for desktops. (Google had experimented with tweets in search results for mobile users previously…apparently it went well.)
So what does this mean for SEO and organic search results in legal marketing? Basically, if you do not yet have a handle on Twitter or tweet on a regular basis, get that account set up. For new users, tweets and hashtags can seem like they are written in a foreign language. However, once you get the hang of it, you’ll probably get addicted like the rest of the world. If you have no desire to get onboard the arguably most important social media platform on the internet, let us do the work for you. We can condense long-winded explanations of legalese, extrapolations of cases and musing regarding the legal field into fun, 140 character sound bites…so you can concentrate on practicing law.
With this new Google update, social media and Twitter in particular is more important than ever to be part of a full marketing plan and a component of search engine optimization strategies.
